For this project, I used the 3D modeling program Blender to create a dinosaur, or other creature, originating from one single cube. I ended up making a bird type creature with a beak, webbed feet, and short wings.
We started with a single box and began extruding and manipulating sides, edges, and vertices. This process is known as box modeling. I created the main body out of cubes, and began manipulating different qualities of the cubes. I finally used the loop cut tool to add extra lines in the middle of my creature. I then manipulated these lines to make certain parts rounded or have a different look.
In this project, I learned how to extrude a box to extend it. This is very similar to the "push/pull" tool in SketchUp. Using my prior knowledge and this new knowledge, I was able to extend the box to make new shapes and sides.
